Treatment Modalities and Duration
It has in-patient and outpatient (after-care) treatment modalities that spans over a totalof 12 months period.
The residential phase is 5 months, while the outpatient phase is 7 months. Both the inpatient and outpatient makeup the three phases of treatment, namely;
- The detox process is minimum 14 days which is 2 weeks, it could be more depend on severity.
- Active phase treatment, this entails an intensive, structured environment for psychological and social interventions for recovery from drug dependence. Some of its interventions include; Relapse Prevention, Life skill straining, Assertiveness training, Group Psychotherapy, Progressive Muscle Relaxation technique, Individual counselling, Individualized treatment planning and interventions, Family Therapy and so on.
- After-care (outpatient phase) focus is on functioning in the society
- First 3 months following discharge patient comes in weekly
- Second 2 months comes in every forth night (once every two weeks).
- Last 2 months, once every month.
